VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Islamic Relief (IR) was founded in 1984 in the United Kingdom and currently works in over 30 countries providing support to those in need regardless of race, religion, ethnic, or political affiliations. Because of its existence in Indonesia, Islamic Relief was able to respond in Aceh just one day after the Tsunami struck in 2004. Since then, Islamic Relief has constructed houses, schools, health clinics and numerous projects aimed at supporting the recovery of over 100,000 Tsunami-affected people Aceh.
Islamic Relief seeks to hire committed and experienced person for the following position:
QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER
based in lamno, with frequency site visiting lamno and calang for quality inspection and monitoring
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Site visiting to all project sites and record the quality construction performance based on key performance indicator
- Coordinating with all Islamic Relief (IR) field inspectors, including chief field inspector in workplan, action plan and supervision in the field.
- Supporting IR field inspector for close supervision of contractor work
- Giving direction and positive correct action to IR field inspector in order to get the construction quality as per specification
- Giving the note or warning to the contractor if they fail to maintain a good quality of construction through IR chief field inspector, including supporting documents which might be required
- Conduct regular meeting with IR field inspector to get the same understanding of construction work
- Develop regular quality inspection report of each site base on field finding as per agreed format. The report should share to all IR field inspectors as input of improvement.
- Giving an update and quality construction performance to project coordinator on weekly and monthly basis
- Documenting all construction works, including material and workmanship, concrete test, slump test and other duties related to its activity
- Participate in meetings necessary to carry out the work with IR field inspector, communities, contractors, government agencies.
- Create technical or supplementary documentation as required, as well as any other relevant duties related to his/her line of work assigned by his/her supervisor.
Qualifications required :
- Civil engineering degree from reputable university, and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Good understanding of concrete composition and grade of concrete quality – including concrete test, slump test, construction workmanship, construction materials, etc
- Able to develop construction quality performance report base on indicator and its criteria
- Solid technical knowledge in all areas related to construction work, architectural and preparation of documentation reports.
- Able to work independently or team and survive in critical situation or under pressure circumstances
- Creative, able to take initiative, highly motivated, and able to express ideas, technical or otherwise.
- Excellent English language skills. Speak Acehnese is an advantage
- Experience work with NGOs or international organizations is a plus.
