Location: Indonesia - Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra Province
We are currently seeking Construction Manager for our Padang Pariaman Health Facilities Reconstruction Program. The Construction Manager is a key senior position in the Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising the Team Leader on the progress and issues related to construction and for over-sighting the construction of health facilities to achieve the expected quality outcomes. The position is expected to represent the Team Leader during his absence, which includes supervision of the administrative/personnel and finance related functions in the Project office in Padang Pariaman.
You will be graduated in civil engineering or construction management. You will have substantial experience in costing, design, tendering and procurement of medium to large scale buildings; strong oversight and supervision experience of medium to large scale infrastructure Programs, preferably in a post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction context; experience working with local governments in Indonesia as well as previous experience working on AusAID-funded construction Program
You will have an extensive knowledge and hands-on skills associated with managing a complex and wide diversity of activities connected with the development of medium to large scale physical infrastructure; knowledge of Indonesian government regulations related to government buildings; knowledge of the role of the local government in Indonesia, including District and Sub-district levels of government; understanding the principles of organizational capacity strengthening through capacity building and appreciation of gender issues especially in relation to infrastructure; and excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia.
The ideal candidate will have a track record in working effectively in a team from varied cultures and professional backgrounds; excellent oral communication skills; excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills; excellent reporting skills, including Program scheduling and monitoring and evaluation; strong interpersonal skills and appreciation of cultural sensitivities and strong commitment and determination to protect and promote the integrity and quality of the Program
